The Offside Rule Explained

Since I started this blog I have wanted to create a post explaining the offside rule. This is the hardest law of the game for most spectators and new players to understand. As I sat down and started thinking about how best to explain it, I started researching a little bit. In my research I found a great post on the offside rule at onthepitch.org.

I realized that there was no need for me to create an entire post to explain this concept because it has already been done very well. So, if you are unsure how offside works and you are ready to learn, read An Offside Primer for Parents.
